Gary Carter Salyers, 69, of Blacksburg, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020.
Born November 28, 1950 in Abingdon, Virginia, he was the son of the late Willie O’dell Salyers and Bobbye Lee Jessee Salyers.
Gary is survived by his son, Jeremy Salyers, his daughter, Kimberly Salyers, and his loving partner Maryjane Drengwitz. Gary left behind many cherished memories of his life full of stories and experience. He was first and foremost a man who loved sharing stories. He was known to many as a talented carpenter, but also loved gardening, photography, writing, cooking, and so much more. As a former antique dealer, Gary cherished history and its crafted treasures. For all who know Gary, there is no question he loved life-its history, stories, plants, creatures, music, and language. He will be deeply missed by the many people he came across throughout the years.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date.
