Gary Garnett Giles, Jr.

Gary Garnett Giles, Jr., 40, of Lynchburg, died Monday, October 9, 2023.

He was born in Lynchburg VA, on June 28, 1983, to the late Letitia Farmer Giles and Gary Garnett Giles Sr.

He is survived by his wife Tameka Davis Giles; his four children Tamisia Davis, Ghamere Giles, Gdre’Asia Giles  Giles, and Ghanara Giles, one granddaughter Ky’Alayah Thomas, mother- in-law Luebell Davis; his sisters Tracey (Craig) Mosby, Marquita & Kameshia Farmer, Ahniece (TJ) Wilcox; his brother, Lorenzo Arnold Jr.;  sister-in-law Jillian Davis; brothers- in-law, Christopher Fleshman, Derrick Davis; five uncles; 10 aunts, and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that forever cherish him for eternal Life.

Gary was one of a kind, he was a good father, a proud father, and was always their biggest fan! He loved all his nieces and nephews wholeheartedly; their uncle “Geezy” was their go to.  it's nothing he wouldn't do for his family and the ones he loved!! Whether it was giving them a place to stay or a meal to eat, he did it gracefully with a smile! Gary was the glue to his family. He had the fruit of life, in his life, that spoke volumes. He brought peace, love, and comfort to others and he went to great lengths to do so. He did it genuinely with an open heart! his purpose is fulfilled here on earth.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 1p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Baptist Cemetery.

Life is but a stopping place.

A pause in what’s to be.

A resting place along the road

To sweet eternity

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way.

A golden heart stop beating,

working hand put to rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us.
