Gary Lloyd Wood
Gary Lloyd Wood, 65, of, Bedford, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born Saturday, January 13, 1945 in Bedford, VA, he was a son of the late Ralph Lloyd Wood and Lillian Catherine Eubank Wood.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific where he was mechanic for 33 years. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church.
Gary is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Gail Padgett Wood; a step-son, Patrick Johnson and his wife, Jaquelyn of Lynchburg; a step-daughter, Bobbie L. Dudley and her husband Jeffrey of Wake Forest, NC; a brother, Larry L. Wood and his wife Anna of Bedford and his aunt, Thelma F. Wood of Bedford; three step-grandchildren, Lauren Taylor Dudley, Patrick Johnson, II and Victoria Grace Johnson.

A service in remembrance of Gary\"™s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford, with Pastor Greg Rogers and Rev. Jack Davis officiating, Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park with military rites. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Sunday at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540) 586-3443.
