Gazel Patricia Cook, also known as “Nokie” to her grandchildren, 72, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Dr. Rhio Lawrence Ralph Cook.
Born on March 11, 1945, she was a daughter of the late John M. Trtol and the late Erma Trtol. Originally from Wheeling, W.Va., she graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, Calif., and she worked at J. Crew for almost 20 years.
She is survived by her three daughters and their families: Jennie Lee Atkinson and husband Brandon, their children Vivianne Harper and Lillian Mae, Jessica Grace Kuhn and husband Frank, their children Vanessa Grace and Ian Jackson, Joanna Catherine Cook and her son William Lee.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
