Gene Forrest Arrington
Gene Forrest Arrington, 69, of Bedford, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Shirley Orange Arrington.
Born September 11, 1943 in Bedford, he was the son of the late Newell Bernard Arrington and Edith Burley Arrington. Gene retired from Bedford Weaving, Inc. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a dedicated member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He loved horses and enjoyed riding horses.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Jeff Arrington and Newell \"Newtie\" Arrington (Katrina); stepchildren, Gary Reynolds, Bobby \"Bobcat\" Reynolds (Vicky), Davey Reynolds, Mike Reynolds (Teresa), Phyllis Chandler (Chris); sister, Betty Ober; brothers, Wayne and Johnny Arrington; also grandchildren, Jordan, Brittney, Jared, Kandie, and Katie Arrington, and a number of other step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
