Genevieve McCoy Hunter Reynolds, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2016, after a long illness.
Genevieve was born on August 19, 1933 in Lynchburg. She was the daughter of the late Clarence David Hunter and Hilda Cyrus Hunter. She is preceded in death by her late husband Clyde Allen Reynolds of Lynchburg and her granddaughter Stacy Glick of Rustburg.
She is survived by her two children, David Reynolds and his wife Kathy Jenkins Reynolds of Campbell County and Linda Reynolds Glick and husband Tim Glick of Rustburg; her brother, Curtis Hunter of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Whitney Reynolds of Amherst, Marshall Reynolds of Campbell County, Coty Reynolds of San Diego, CA, Brittany Glick, Sarah Glick and Elizabeth Glick of Rustburg, and Gabrielle Hackworth of Campbell county; four great grandchildren, Kyler Hatcher and Logan Hatcher of Amherst, Kaisley Reynolds and Calista Reynolds of Campbell county.
Genevieve was a faithful member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and played the piano and sang in the choir there for 43 years. She was also active with her niece Jeanne Paige Floyd of Amherst in the Quilt and Chatter club at Fairview United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home on Monday February 29, 2016 between the hours of 6 to 8:30 p.m. Her Funeral will be held at Flat Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at 2 p.m. Following the service she will be interred at Fort Hill Cemetery.
