George Charles Spinner, 73, of Big Island passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He was the loving husband of Vonda Goff Spinner.
Born October 10, 1945 in Bedford County, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Adell Scott Spinner. George is also preceded in death by brothers: Russell, Gilbert Jr., Addie and Curl Spinner; and sister: Martha Johnson.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by his son: Isaiah Spinner; daughters: Georgette (Kenneth) Carter, Silisa (Edwin) Kyle, Evangeline (Leon) Waugh, Annelida (Kelvin) Carter, Dwana (Troy) Thornton; brother: Jewell Spinner; sisters: Ollie McDaniels, Florence Younger, Carrie (Jack) Franklin; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Phillip Brown. Interment will follow at Hunting Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
