George “Smitty” Lestro Smith, 75, of Big Island, VA was born April 30, 1945 in Mooresville, NC. He was the son of the late Alfred V. and Clara Helen Smith.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Smith and a nephew, W.L. Renfro, Jr.
He is survived by a son, Michael Dwayne Smith and wife, Cosette of Lynchburg, VA; a brother, Kelly E. Smith and wife, Gail of Manchester, MO; a sister, Christine Stormer and husband, Rex of Piketon, OH; two grandsons, Kevin A. Smith of Lynch Station, VA and Steven A. Smith of Hudson, FL; and two nieces.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
