George Monroe Witt

George Monroe Witt, 82, of Bedford, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. Born April 20, 1932 in Bedford County, he was the husband of the late Eleanor Geneva Phillips Witt, and son of the late Dillard Witt and Iva Boywer Witt.
George was a Wood Worker and worked for Frank Chavan for 21 years. He was also a member of Free Will Baptist Church
In addition to his parents and wife, George was also preceded in death by one great-grandchild, three brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his children, Barbara Wood, and husband Edward; Roger Witt and wife Hilda; and Eugene Witt, and wife Teresa all of Bedford; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 26, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Tharp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Tharp Funeral Home with (Earl Ragland) officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Land Cemetery.
