George Edward Smith

September 19, 1946 — February 25, 2024

George Edward Smith, 77, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024, at his home with his loving wife and daughter by his side.  

 

George was born on September 19, 1946, in Asheville, NC to the late Paul Lynn Smith and Willie Fay Smith. He attended school at Maynard Evans High School and retired from Pepsi Cola after 37 successful years. 

 

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora. He enjoyed softball, fishing, bird watching, and anything related to spending time with his family. 

 

In addition to his wife, Dolly Smith, George is survived by his daughter, Melissa Bradley; his grandchildren, Hannah Collins, Brooke Collins, and Michael Collins Jr.; niece, Kelly Easler; nephews, Danny Leydig and Donny Leydig; along with many other loving family members and friends. 

 

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his brother Harrision Smith and sister Kay Leydig. 

 

A memorial service will be held on May 4, 2024, at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora. The address is 1000 E. 1st Ave, Mt. Dora, FL 32757.
