George Windsor Megeath, 89, of Bedford, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Elks National Home. Born October 16, 1920 in Omaha, NE, a son of the late Ethel Richter Megeath and Windsor Freeman Megeath.
George was a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. He was a retired accountant and a retiree of the U.S. Navy Reserves having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the BPOE Lodge #2844 in Bedford and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
George is survived by a son, David W. Megeath and his wife, Susan of Fair Oaks, CA; a grandson, Patrick Megeath of Bolder, CO; and a nephew, Dick Stubbs of Boise, ID.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the management and staff of the Elks National Home, Bedford.
