George Windsor Megeath

George Windsor Megeath, 89, of Bedford, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Elks National Home. Born October 16, 1920 in Omaha, NE, a son of the late Ethel Richter Megeath and Windsor Freeman Megeath. George was a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. He was a retired accountant and a retiree of the U.S. Navy Reserves having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the BPOE Lodge #2844 in Bedford and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. George is survived by a son, David W. Megeath and his wife, Susan of Fair Oaks, CA; a grandson, Patrick Megeath of Bolder, CO; and a nephew, Dick Stubbs of Boise, ID. 

The family would like to express their appreciation to the management and staff of the Elks National Home, Bedford.Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Home, Lodge #2844, Building Fund, PO Box 112, Bedford, VA 24523. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
