Gerald Forslund

Gerald \"Jerry\" Forslund, 78, of Lynchburg, VA, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was the husband of Courtney Bates Forslund.

Gerald was born February 14, 1933, in Rock Island, ILL, a son of the late Delbert Forslund and the late Mildred Lentz Forslund. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a past president and supporter of Little League Sports, an avid golfer at London Downs Golf Course, and a fan of Notre Dame.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children; two daughters, Cindy Wisecarver and husband, Skeeter, of Nathalie, Dawn McGuire and husband, Johnny, of Madison Heights; and son, Mike Forslund and wife, Angie, of Lynchburg; and five grandchildren, Lorin McGuire, Shannon McGuire, Blake Forslund, Brandon Forslund, and Brooke Forslund. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene \"Dee\" Forslund and a brother, Richard \"Dick\" Forslund.

A Mass celebrating the life of Jerry will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Mooney officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service.
