Geraldine Lucado Nash

March 25, 1938 — April 27, 2021

Geraldine Lucado Nash, 83, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, April 27th in Lynchburg, Virginia. Geraldine was born March 25, 1938 to Harry and Venice Hamilton Lucado in Appomattox, Virginia. Geraldine grew up in Oakville, VA and graduated from Appomattox County High School in 1956. November 10th of that same year, Geraldine married Jerry Raymond Nash.

Geraldine began her working life as a secretary for the Virginia State police. After taking time off to start their family, she returned to the workforce culminating in a 30-year tenure and retiring as the secretary for Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. She was a long-time member of Red Oak Baptist Church in Appomattox, Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, and most recently, attended Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg.

Geraldine is survived by her brother, Clinton Lucado and wife Betty, of Appomattox, son Dean and wife Karen, of Johnson City, Tennessee; daughter, Gwen Nash Murphy and husband Jim of Forest, Virginia; four grandchildren, Jessica and Raymond Nash, Steven and Laura Murphy, four great grandchildren; a special first cousin, Mildred Ore; as well as five nephews, many other relatives, friends and their faithful companion dog Fred. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; and her great granddaughter, Sydney Carwile. The family rejoices in the knowledge that they are all reunited for eternity.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at 9am at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502 with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 10am with Randy Bower officiating.
