Geraldine Bayes Morris

Geraldine B. Morris, 88 of Lynchburg, VA peacefully transitioned to be with the lord Monday, August 26, 2024. She was the wife of the late Ralph L. Morris.

Born in Nelson County, November 27, 1935, she was the daughter of late Sam Bayes, Sr and Anna Jones Bayes. In addition, she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Bayes and Sam

Bayes Jr. Sisters Mary Bayes, Martha Bayes, and Bessie Hamlett. Daughter Deborah Morris. Sons Donald Morris, Terry Morris Sr., and Dale Morris. Grandsons Bryant Morris and Rodney Brown.

Geraldine was a devoted member of New Dimensional Church of God and Christ, late Pastor I.L. Ward Sr. which later became Bountiful Blessings Church of God and Christ led by Pastor Barbara Ward. Geraldine served as Church Mother and Head of the Usher Board.

Geraldine worked at Central Virginia Training Center as a Charge Aide retiring after twenty-eight years.

Geraldine enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, shopping and spreading the gospel.

Geraldine is survived by eight children Amos Morris Sr. (Shirley), Ronnie Morris Sr. (Eva), Blake Morris Sr. (Peggy), Harold Morris, Steve Morris, Damon Morris Sr. (Leatha), Pamela Morris-Brown (Arthur), and Lilly Morris. Twenty-nine grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
