Gertrude (Trudy) Eisenhauer Jones

December 25, 1934 — March 2, 2022

Gertrude (Trudy) Eisenhauer Jones, of Forest, has come to rest on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Born in Freudenberg, Germany on December 25, 1934, to Karl and Elise Eisenhauer, she was a strong ambitious woman that forged through the trials of life, always with a smile on her face.

She was a career waitress and was the hostess with the mostest in every aspect of her hard-working life. Her positive attitude and drive to satisfy her accomplishments, set a standard for her children and all who knew her. She was a conscientious and caring mother that always put her family first. She was an expert in plants and landscaping where she was thoroughly at peace when working in the yard and propagating her bushes and trees for additions to her lovely landscaping plans in each home she had lived. She had a love for beautiful cars, always driving one in her younger years, and had a love for all animals large and small. She loved classical music, German opera’s, Pink Floyd and Queen; she was the coolest Mom ever. She played Canasta and Mahjong and always looked forward to her play dates with her friends at the Templeton Senior Center. She was courageous & brave, where, in her 60” s, she packed her bags and traveled cross country alone, to see our beautiful nation.

She loved her homeland of Germany and although living through hard times during World War II, she always had fond memories of being back home with her family. She carried herself with grace and dignity and had more class than anyone known to our family. She had a firm belief in always being well dressed and would never be seen otherwise. In her retirement years, she would still wear her classy blouses, black slacks, and pearls, even while doing yard work, as she was labeled the best dressed landscaper in all Virginia. She was a small woman in stature but large in grit and strength, as she was a true hard-working German that had instilled in her children ethics, responsibility, and dependability.

She leaves behind her Children: Jack Jones and Lisa Carroll (Jeff), 3 Grandchildren: Amelia Jones, Alisha Carroll, and Justin Carroll and 3 Great Grandchildren: Jayden Rice, Easton Carroll, and Julius Carroll. She also leaves behind sisters Hilde Krallinger of North Carolina, Helen Bischop of Hundeim Germany along with a brother Joseph Eisenhauer also of Hundheim Germany and an array of nieces and nephews. Special thank you to Christina Bradley for her support and help to all of us through this sad time.
