Gladys Gray Floyd, 84, of Lynchburg died Saturday, October 22, 2016. She was the wife of the late Edward Daniel Floyd.
Gladys was born on August 28, 1932 in Lynchburg a daughter of the late Richard H. Martin, Sr. and Lottie Pearl Collins. Gladys was active with the Women of the Moose Lodge #1727, the College Regents and was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three sons: Kenneth Darrell Floyd of Goode, Phillip Leland Floyd of Fincastle, and Richard Lee Floyd of Lynchburg, one daughter Patricia Neal Floyd of Winston-Salem, NC, one sister, Bessie McCraw of Roanoke, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by three sisters: Melba Yeater, Dorothy Carter and Dora Driskill, and one brother Richard H. Martin, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Joshua Gentry officiating.
