Gladys M. Bennett
Gladys Bennett, 86, of Big Island, died Sunday, September 12, 2010. She was the wife of Albert L. Bennett.
Gladys was born September 22, 1923 in Pedlar Mills, VA, a daughter of the late Andrew Howard and Ellen Hudson Maddox.
In addition to her spouse, she is survived by her sons; Wayne Bennett and wife, Kim, of Lynchburg, and Robert Lewis Bennett of Bedford; her sister, Hazel Maddox of Lynchburg, three grandchildren; Amanda Wilkerson and husband, Jason, of Lynchburg, Zachary Bennett and wife, Jessica, of Madison Heights, and Logan Bennett of Lynchburg; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Alfred Maddox and Harry Maddox; three sisters, Virginia Tomlin, Ruth Tomlin and Myra Davis; and one great-granddaughter, Courtney Wilkerson.
A graveside service will be conducted at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Big Island, VA, on Today, September 14, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Carl Weiser officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA, 24018.
