Gladys Reddy Humphrey

Gladys Reddy Humphrey passed away Monday , December 3, 2012. She was the daughter of Ottillia and John Daniel. She was born July 30, 1921 in White Valley, Pa. Twice married she was the wife of James H. Reddy and Reece J. Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy R. Horine.

 

She is survived by two sons, J. Mike Reddy (Joann) of Lavonia, Ga. And David E. Reddy of Amherst, Va. and a son in law, Ronnie C. Horine. She had seven grandchildren: J Michael Reddy (Meredith) of Alpharetta Ga. ,Jeff Reddy of Lavonia Ga., Daniel Horine (Amanda) of Blue Ridge, Va., Margaret R. Clements (Matt) and Anne S. Reddy (Evan) both of Lynchburg, R. Spencer Reddy of Midlothian, Va. And Laura R Wright (Jeremy) of Roanoke, Va. She is also survived by three step daughters, Sally H. Hershberger, Martha H. Lewis and Jeanne H. Markham. In addition she is survived by seven great grandchildren .

 

Gladys enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. She was very active in her church, Holy Trinity Lutheran for 63 years. She was influential in having a Jobes Daughter chapter in Lynchburg and was a past member of Boonsboro Garden Club.

 

The family will receive friends at 10:00am to 11:00 am on Thursday December 6, 2012 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dennis Roberts.
