Gladys Wilson Millner

Gladys Wilson Millner, 83, of Rustburg, died on Friday, December 7, 2012. She was the wife of Maurice J. Millner. Gladys was born on May 31, 1929 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late John Watson Wilson and the late Malissa Dalton Wilson. Gladys was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

In addition to her husband, Gladys is survived by two daughters, Emily Giles Jones and husband, G. H. of Concord and Cathy M. Tomlin and husband, Elwood, of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Hunter Jones and wife, Angie, Jennifer Hunter and fiancé, Steve, Melissa Jones Hale and husband, Jason, Jamie Wills Harper and husband, Michael and Jay Wills and wife, Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gladys was a member of Whites United Methodist Church and was involved in many civic organizations in the community, including the Campbell County Litter Commission and the Children\"™s Miracle Network, however, the love that she had for veterans and the American Legion was untouchable.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A service to celebrate Gladys\"™ life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with the Rev. Paul Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
