Glenda Rhett "Wendy" Lockliear

May 1, 1957 — June 2, 2025

Moneta

Glenda Rhett “Wendy” Lockliear, 68, of Moneta, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Georgetown, SC on May 1, 1957. A daughter of the late Rhett Lockliear and Thelma Lou Cooper Lockliear.

Wendy was a devoted mother, nana, and sister who poured her heart into her family. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. If her children needed anything, she was always there. All they had to do was call, and she would show up without hesitation. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she never missed a chance to be present in their lives. Whether they needed a ride, a listening ear, or simply her presence, she made sure they knew she was there. Wendy walked to the beat of her own drum and never cared what anyone thought. She dressed for comfort, even in formalwear, never giving up her Crocs no matter the occasion. She had a one of a kind laugh that filled a room and will be missed more than words can express. Wendy shared an unbreakable bond with her sister Pat. They were not only sisters, but lifelong best friends who were always by each other’s side. Wendy spent every holiday with Pat and her family, and if she was headed to Pat’s, it was usually “for the good ice”. The two talked constantly, supported one another through everything, and truly shared a connection that was rare and beautiful. She had a special way of showing love through food. She believed in feeding the people she cared about, and if you walked through her door, she was already asking what you wanted to eat. Some of her favorite things in life were simple and meaningful: enjoying her son Chris’s BBQ, cruises, cooking, enjoying a cigarette, and living a simple life.

Surviving are her four children, Chris Lockliear and his wife, Donna, Crystal Allen and her husband, David, Dana Owen and husband, Allen and Brandi Snow; eight grandkids, Austin, C.J., Briahna, Junior, Riley-Ann, Mason, Aryanna, and Isla; two sisters, Gail Lockliear and Pat Dunman and her husband, Bob; One niece, Ashley Dunman; three nephews, Robert Dunman, Patrick Dunman, Wayne Dunman; one great-nephew, Ashten Dunman. Also surviving are special friends, Jewel Smith, Momma Flowers, Marchalle Smith, Ryan Nix and Austin Branham. Also numerous other friends, extended family and her loving four legged friend Oliver.
