Glenn Michael Damron, 60, of Lynchburg, VA, died Thursday, May 02, 2013. He was the husband of Cynthia Shannon Damron, for 30 years.
Born Friday, March 20, 1953 in Jenkins, KY, Mike was a son of the late Doug Damron and the late Jackie Rowlette Damron.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by two brothers: Rick Damron and his wife, Cynthia, of Jenkins, KY and Shawn Damron and his wife, Jen, of Billings, MT; two sisters: Betsy Addington and her husband, David, of Jenkins, KY , and Lisa Wiley and her husband, Billy, of King, NC; mother in-law Wilmagene R. Shannon, of Lexington, KY, sister in-law, Donna Shannon Elliott and her husband, Allan, of Lexington, Ky, brother in-law Steve Shannon and his wife, Sara, of Buda, TX, special niece Susan Gaines, of Lexington, KY, a special friend Roy Foushee and his wife, Julie, of Lexington, KY, his special pet, Sadie, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Damron, and his father in-law Don Shannon.
Mike was an avid University of Kentucky sports fan. He loved golfing and boating. He was the Administrator of Campbell County SVC & Authority, and current President of Virginia Water & Waste Water Association. Mike was a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Mining, a licensed professional civil engineer in Virginia and New Hampshire. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Water Environment Federation & American Public Works Association. Mike was also past Chairman of Virginia Drinking Water Quality Commission.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Monday, May 6, 2013, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Mike\"™s life will follow at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Tom Bryant officiating.
