Glenn Thomas “Tom” Bentley, Jr. of Lynchburg, formerly of Huntington, W. Va., died Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was the husband of Carolyn P. Bentley for 55 years.
Tom was born in Whitman, W. Va. on June 24, 1939 a son of the late Glenn Thomas Bentley, Sr. and Suzanne Dyer Bentley. Tom honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Tom was retired from Special Metals in Huntington, W.Va.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Tom Bentley, III, of West Chester, PA, and Elizabeth Mick of Roanoke, his sisters: Patty Brewer of Forest, and Cheryl Mossman of Georgia, his dear grandchildren: Stella Bentley, Will Bentley, George Bentley, Gracie Rose Mick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. tonight, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Thomas Road Baptist Church, Pate Chapel. Interment will follow in West Virginia at a later date.
