Gloria Ann Wright, of 104 Federal Street, Lynchburg, Virginia, at the age of 66, entered into eternal rest at her residence on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born on August 16, 1952, to the late Margaret Wright Cunningham and Hugo D. Mayo.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers: Charles, Allen, Richard, James, Jr., Cleveland, and Jerome.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Darryl Lee Wright and Derrick Lee Wright; one daughter, Demetrius Lynette Wright, all of Lynchburg, Va.; two granddaughters, Ariel Douglas Johnson of Charlotte, N.C., and Iyonna Ware or Lynchburg, Va.; one grandson, Darrian Lamar Wright of Lynchburg, Va.; one great-granddaughter Avana Star Johnson of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Abdul Shakir and Hugh (Constance) Wright, Sr., both of Lynchburg, Va.; four sisters-in-law, Mabel Barber, Jirleen Wright, Phyllis H. Wright, and Minister Constance Wright, all of Lynchburg, Va.; just to name a few of her closest friends, Regina Pennix, Gilberta Waller, Donna Booker, Sandra Warrick, Gimiyco Gray, and Mary Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with a visitation 30 minutes prior.
