Gladys Torrence Fix, 87, of Lynchburg died Tuesday August 26, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Henry Fix.
Gladys was born December 5, 1926 in Campbell County a daughter of the late Willie Davis Torrence and Esther Tweedy Torrence. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela F. Martin and her husband Craig of Lynchburg, a sister Virginia T. Caldwell of Appomattox, a brother Marvin G. Torrence of Lynchburg, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Robert “Steve†Fix, two sisters: Helen T. Burton and Nell Washburn, and one brother William “Bill†Torrence.
In keeping with Gladys wishes, there will be no public memorial service held.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association 2250 Murrell Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24501 or to the American Lung Association 9702 Grayson Rd. #110 Richmond, VA 23238.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Carrington for their care and support.
