Grace Ann Day McNeely, 81, of Coleman Falls, died Thursday June 23, 2016. She was the wife of Charles “Sonny” McNeely Sr. for 54 years.
Born April 24, 1935 in Bedford County, she was a daughter of Eva Beatrice Arthur Day and the late Ralph Warren Day. Grace Ann’s loves, besides her family, were sewing, decorating, and tending to her flower garden.
In addition to her husband and mother, Grace is survived by her children, Wayne Sale of Augusta, Ga., Cindy Arrington of Lynchburg, and C.L. McNeely, Jr. and his fiancée Debbie Gibson of Big Island, Va.; her sister, Betty Lipscomb; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Lisa S. Dibble officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be made to Cove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 33 Coleman Falls, Va. 24536, Pearson Cancer Center, Lynchburg, Va., or the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to dedicate a special thank you to Dr. Wortley and his staff and the Centra Hospice Team, and all of Grace’s caregivers: Val Totty, Kelly Wilson, Tiwana Spinner, Nancy Calloway, Jennifer Vasser, Robin Reynolds, and Angie Spinner.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
