Grace Ward Bagby, 79, of Madison Heights, formerly of Concord, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Appomattox Health and Rehab.  She was the wife of the late GC Bagby, Jr.

She loved to cook for anyone and everyone.  She was famous for her Banana Pudding and Chocolate pies.  She also loved to spend time with her family, crochet, play games on her iPad, and help others as much as possible.

Born in Campbell County on October 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Irene Ward.  She was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church, retired hardware inspector with Thomasville Furniture, retired cook with Valley View Retirement Community and Giles Market.

She is survived by her children Dell Bagby, Tony Bagby (Tammy), Scott Bagby (Lisa), Tammy Webster (Glenn), Brenda Johnson, Michelle Bagby and Vickie Thomas.  Her grandchildren Timmy Bagby (Marie), Andrew Webster, Lauren Bagby, Christopher Webster (Emily), Brittany Bagby, Autumn Bagby (Dee), Scottie Allen (Jane) and Jeremy Gunter (Kristie); her great-grandchildren – Hudson Webster, Silas Allen, Jayce and Adalene.  Her siblings Juanita Ennis (Wayne), David Ward, Bobby Ward (Tessa); In-laws – Pat Stinnette, Pete McKinney and Leslie Ward and numerous nieces and nephews.  Along with her special friends Larry Price, Lou Brennan and Donna Walkup.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Lucy Duffy, Faye Wade, Earl Ward, Jr, Christine McKinney and In-laws John Stinnette, Morris and Olivia Bagby, grandson Zack Gunter.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Eastbrook Baptist Church; followed by her service at 2:00 pm with Pastors Curtis Walkup and Jeff Worley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions in her honor to Eastbrook Baptist Church – 3104 Eastbrook Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to her care team, Dr. Milam and Brooke McNamara.  Along with Appomattox Health and Rehab; especially her niece, Sara Franklin.
