Gratie H. Orange

Gratie Harlace Orange, 83, of Vinton passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1936 in Bedford, VA. A son of the late John Everette Orange and Elberta Dooley Orange. In addition to his parents Gratie was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his son, Martha Dooley Orange, and his second wife, Katie Inez Orange; his brother, Lloyd Orange and his sister Helen Orange Parker. He was retired from Virginia Department of Transportation with many years of service. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all that knew him.

Gratie is survived by his son, Grady E. Orange and his wife, Gina; one granddaughter, Amanda Orange Jenkins and her husband, James; four great-grandchildren, Travis Allen Welch, Gabriele Marcus Welch, Jayla Rose Jenkins and Jupiter Rain Jenkins; one brother, Ernest E. Orange and his wife, Ann. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Gratie’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Bedford with Pastor Eric Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the Orange Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford.
