Gretel Doswell of Lynchburg, VA departed this life on Thursday April 5, 2018. She was born March 1, 1925 in Lynchburg, VA.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Edgar Allen Doswell. She was the daughter of the late John and Eva Glover, also preceding her in death are her brothers: William, Herman, and Henry Glover, also three sisters: Susie Thomas, Helen Early and Lenora Dane. She was the mother of the late Edgar Doswell, Jr., Fredrick Doswell and one daughter Cassandra Zurlippe. She leaves to cherish her eight grandchildren; Jack Morris III (Toni), Jeffrey Morris (Valarie) both of Madison Heights, VA, Kristin Doswell, Fredrick Doswell Jr., Joseph Doswell (Jasmine), Sarah Doswell, Laura Doswell and Joshua Doswell all of Lynchburg, VA.; three devoted nephews: Samuel Thomas, Jr., Howard Scott and Dwayne Glover, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a special devoted friend, Henry Fry.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502. The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Gretel will lie in repose on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.
