Gwendolyn Anne Holt, 46, of Rustburg, Va., passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 after a short illness. She is survived by her parents, Kenny Holt and Brenda Holt; her sister, Kenda Tufford and brother-in-law, Tim; two nieces, Kailey and Taryn Tufford; and her canine companion, Dakota.
She attended Radford University and Graduated from Lynchburg College of Nursing. She excelled as a nurse in all settings and her career was her proudest achievement. In her youth, she was passionate about horses. She dedicated much of her time to her beloved horse, Denver, until he tragically died in an accident. She grew to love dogs in her adult life and had many that she adopted and adored. Gwendolyn had a special connection to music and always felt she was born in the wrong decade. She was a Beatles fanatic and would have loved to attend Woodstock! She had a big heart and loved to help others that were less fortunate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society for Campbell County
Post Office Box 659, Rustburg, Virginia 24588 or National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Virginia Chapter PO Box 8260 Richmond, Virginia 23226-0260.
