Harloe Bailey (Bill) Lambert, 85, of Amherst, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Heartland of Lynchburg. He was the loving husband of the late Helen Bane Lambert.
Born March 5, 1933 in Burkes Garden, Tazewell Co. VA, he is survived by his daughters Patricia (Daniel) Trout of Amherst and Sally (Doug) Turner of Naola. He is also survived by his sister Betty (Henry) Vanhoozier, granddaughters Jessica Turner and Sarah Turner, step grandchildren Cerise Smith and Justin Trout and step great-granddaughter Jessi Lee Smith. He is also survived by 2 nieces and many cousins and friends.
He was married to Helen for 60 years, worked at Blue Buckle Clothing Factory, Western Auto Store and Schewells in Amherst. He was an outstanding builder and built everything from jewelry boxes to furniture, from campers to boats, from antique reproductions to houses. He was very artistic from early childhood and used his talents throughout his life.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland of Lynchburg and Senior Independence Hospice for their care of Bill during his last 9 weeks of illness.
Family Visitation will be Friday June 8 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Amherst.
