Harmon David Maxson, 85, of Moneta, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012. He was born February 4, 1927 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, son of the late Frank and Otilda Currey Maxson. In addition to his parents, Harmon was preceded in death by two sisters, June Krull and Connie Benson; two brothers, Stephen and Gordon Maxson.
Harmon was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific theater and also in the Navy during the Korean conflict. He was an attorney with the FTC and concluded his career as an Administrative Law Judge. He was a graduate of the College of William & Mary School of Law. Harmon was an avid hunter, having successfully hunted moose, caribou, bear and elk.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marcia Lander Maxson; his son, Harley Harmon Maxson and his wife, Debra; granddaughters, Kristen, Shelly and Erin; two great-grandsons, Andrew and Brennan; his sister, Shirley Olson; a step-son, Stanley Thomas Lander and his wife, Patricia; a step-daughter, Susan Robertson and her husband, Tom; also numerous nieces and nephews.
