Harold Jennings, 82, of Lynchburg, died Monday, September 26, 2016. He was the husband of Patty Dunkley Jennings of Lynchburg.
Harold was born January 13, 1934 in Campbell County, a son of the late Betty St. John. Harold honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from J.P. Hughes and loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and he especially enjoyed fishing and was a member of New Beginning Tabernacle in Madison Heights.
In addition to his wife he was survived by his children: Vicky Argenbright and husband Gary of Madison Heights, Dennis Jennings of Hurt, Wanda Sale and fiancé Stoney Jude
of Amherst, Connie Jennings and fiancé Larry Mitchell and Patty Robertson and husband Tim all of Madison Heights, and Danny Dunkley and wife Jane of Lynchburg, 37 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his siblings: Iris Crouse, Nona Jennings, Marylene Franklin, Vernon Jennings, Wayne St. John, and Joyce Marshall.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter Tammy Jennings.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Pastor Gary Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Naruna, with American Legion Post #16 providing military honors.
