Harold “Cisco” Miles, 68, of Lynchburg, Va, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was the son of the late Oakley and Lena Miles. He is survived by his loving wife Margie Miles.
Cisco was born on December 19, 1955, in Charles City County, Virginia. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1974. While in high school, as a Junior and Senior, he drove the school bus. He continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated from Richmond Broadcasting School. He was known for being the DJ at Phase IV Supper Club, in Charles City, VA. He also was a dedicated DJ at the following radio stations, WENZ in Richmond, Va., 30 years at WJJS, and WLLL both in Lynchburg, Va. He also DJ’d at many weddings and social events. He was a faithful Sexton worker at Fairview United Methodist Church, mentoring many children to a higher education. Cisco worked for the Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (GLTC) as a transit driver. He also worked part-time for Lynchburg City School driving the school bus.
Cisco is survived by his son Earl Byrant and daughters Tyria Tweedy, Ariyanna, Ariyah, and Alexia Tweedy Miles. His grandchildren Jamahri Carey, Lakim and Ishmael Bryant, Sanaa Lambert; His brother Herman Miles Sr (Sara); a host of nieces and nephews, cousins; and many loving friends including his best friends: Robert Goins (Madladd), Billy Lawrence, and Cleo Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Cisco is predeceased by his sisters, Lena Gregg, and Carolyn Miles.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Tharp Funeral Home, Rev. Lucy Barnett officiating.
