Harry Hargrove Hill II

Harry Hargrove Hill II, 104, of Lynchburg passed away, Friday, November 17, 2023

Harry was born November 25, 1918 to the late Minnie and Harry Hill Sr. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by all six of his siblings, Wyatt Hill, John Bunker Hill, Margaret Hill, Frances Quigley, Ruth Greaver, and Hellen Moser; and sons, James “Jim” Hill and Harry Hill III.

He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Harry graduated from E.C. Glass High School and attended Lynchburg College for a few years, before he entered the United States Army. He served as a First Sergeant. After serving in the Army he went on to graduate with his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University. After graduation Harry moved to Dallas where he started his career. After over 10 years in Dallas Harry decided to return home to Lynchburg and was promoted to Vice President of Sales at C.B. Fleet until his retirement in 1983. Harry was an avid Hokie fan and train collector.

A service will held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
