Harry Clement “Pete†Cheatwood, Jr., 75, of Lynchburg, died on Friday, April 25, 2014. He was the husband of the late Ann Bruce Tinsley Cheatwood. Pete is now reunited with his bride, Ann Bruce whom he loved dearly and has missed greatly since her passing just over a year ago. Pete was born in Lynchburg on March 20, 1939, the son of the late Harry C. Cheatwood, Sr. and the late Connie Stinnette Cheatwood.
He is survived by his son, Bruce Clement Cheatwood and wife, Catherine Gwenn and their daughter, Cynthia Taylor Cheatwood of Forest; his brother-in-law, Hugh Stallard and wife, Gloria of Midlothian; and his nephews, Craig, Brian and Mark Stallard and their families. In addition to his wife and parents, Pete was predeceased by his sister, Alice C. Stallard.
Pete was a graduate of BoonsboroHigh School, Class of 1957 and LynchburgCollege, Class of 1961. He was retired from B&W as a computer programmer and was a member of HolyTrinityLutheranChurch.
In his retirement he enjoyed spoiling his granddaughter, weekend get-a-ways with his bride, and finally getting paid for his handyman work through his business, Mildred’s Helper.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at HolyTrinityLutheranChurch with Pastor Dennis S. Roberts officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
