Hayden Martin, 74, of Madison Heights, VA, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 13, 1940 in Amherst County, near the forks of the Buffalo River, Hayden was a son of the late Allie Lincoln Martin and the late Mary Hartless Martin.
In addition to his parents, Hayden was preceded in death by a brother, Versal Martin and two sisters: Lucille Campbell and Irene Martin.
Hayden is survived by his son, Hayden Lincoln Martin, Jr., of Lynchburg, two brothers: Lawrence Martin, of Amherst, and Robert Martin, of Madison Heights; and three sisters: Evelyn Hudson, of Madison Heights, Ann Morris, of Lynchburg, and Doris Range, of Lynchburg, a special friend, Wanda Walton, and many nieces and nephews and his Jack Russell dog, Jack.
Hayden loved the mountains, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Madison Heights (434-929-0055) is assisting the family.
