Helen B. Scarboro, 81 of Amherst, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at The Carrington in Lynchburg.
Born Saturday, October 21, 1933 in Amherst County, Deanie was a daughter of the late William Bowles and the late Rose Watts Bowles.
In addition to her parents, Deanie was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Scarboro and her sister, Rose I. Thompson.
Deanie is survived by her sister, Jane B. Hurt and her husband, Ira, her friends, Donna and Nancy Cochran, her ex-husband and friend, Earl Flinn; three nephews: Ira Huff Hurt, III and his wife, Lilia, William David Hurt, and Michael Thompson and his wife, Hortensia; and a niece, Valerie Thompson,
Deanie was a fun loving person, with a good sense of humor, who maintained her witty personality until the end. Deanie loved animals, especially her cat Socks.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights with Pastor Gary Anderson officiating.
