Helen Doris Rinkenberger Kahle, 500 Mt. Haven Drive, Forest, Virginia, passed away October 30, 2012, from complications associated with cancer.
She was born October 12, 1928 at Gridley, Illinois the daughter of John F. and Anna Gasser Rinkenberger. She married John B. Kahle on June 16, 1950 at Springfield, TN.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Andrew James Kahle (Lisa) of Maryville, TN; a daughter, Martha Jane Kahle (Tom Chiumento) of Clinton, MA; twin sister, Ellen Gramm of Danville, IL; a sister, Mary Kaeb of the Meadows Mennonite Retirement Center in Chenoa, IL; and a brother, Fred Rinkenberger of Rantoul, IL.
Preceding her in death were six brothers; Glenn, Arthur, Clarence, Ralph, Dale, and Lester; and one sister, Madylin Rathbun.
She was a member of the Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5810 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg. She did volunteer work at the Forest Library, and was a Volunteer Visitor for Mended Hearts. She enjoyed working in schools and libraries where she frequently interfaced with children and students. She was a very loving and lovable person.
Her body will be cremated and the ashes placed in the Columbarium at the Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the church, followed by a reception. Those wishing to make a donation may make it to the Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church in her memory.
