Helen Grace Palmer

Helen Grace Brown Palmer, 97, of Lynchburg died January 14, 2012. She was the wife of the late Everett Luther Palmer.

Helen was born, March 18, 1914 in Syracuse, New York, a daughter of the late Clifford Ernest Brown and Bertha Grace Bloser.

She is survived by one son; William E. Palmer of Hagerstown, MD: two daughters; Jean P. Kaldor of Hagerstown, MD, and Carol P. Wood of San Antonio, TX. She was known to her eight grandchildren; Robert Palmer of Algonquin, IL, Sharen Heppell of Fulton, NY, James Palmer of Charlotte, NC, Karl T. Muench of Flager Beach, FL, Peter R. Muench of Pitcairn, PA, Karin D. Harmon of Heber City, UT, Shawn Wood of Portland, OR and Kimberly J. Pasciuto-Wood of Portland, OR as \"Grammy Palmer\" and to her 10 great-grandchildren; Scott M. Heppell of Lisban Portugal, Sarah E. Heppell of Fulton, NY, William F. Palmer of Algonquin, IL, Natally C. Palmer of Charlotte, NC, Sydney G. Pasciuto-Wood of Portland, OR, Lucia E. Wood of Portland OR, Arlington E. Wood of Portland, OR, Graham P. Pasciuto-Wood of Portland, OR, Madeleine J. Muench and Isabella A. Muench of Flagler Beach as \"Grandma Helen\".

Helen grew up in Minoa, New York. She attended the Crane School of Music and graduated from Potsdam State Teachers College. While living in Lynchburg, she was a volunteer with Virginia Baptist Hospital, President of the Auxiliary (for several years) and later became President of the Virginia Association of Hospital Auxiliary\"™s, a volunteer for the Mental Health Association in Lynchburg and volunteer with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in the choir and the \"Women\"™s Organization\" and established the Volunteer Receptionist program. She lived at Westminster Canterbury for many years and became the Chairman of Employee Christmas Party Organizer and The Annual Bazaar.

Helen will be laid to rest, next to her husband in Fayettville, New York.
