Helen Manley Moore

Helen Manley Moore, 80, died Sunday, June 26, 2011.  She was the loving wife of the late Lewis David Moore.

Born in Bedford County, April 7, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Elmo Ohio Manley and Mary Elizabeth Booth Manley.  Helen worked at Famous Virginia Foods (The Pickle Factory), Flowers Bakery and AA Roberson (The Peanut Factory). She was a member of New Beginning Tabernacle.

She is survived by three sons; Phillip Leslie Moore and wife, Vickie of Forest, David Ray Moore and wife, Wanda of Madison Heights, Rev. Gary Lee Moore and wife, Cheryl; one sister, Mattie Lillian Stowers of Rustburg; seven grandchildren, Steven, Kristen, Michael, Shawn, Jennifer, Christopher, Jordan; nine great-grandchildren, Tamber, Sierra, Shawn Jr, Tayden, Ski, Emily, Payton, Beverly and Braeden.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Edward Manley, Donald Ray Manley and Herbert Manley; two sisters, Christine Cofflin and Ruth Phelps; one great-grandchild, David.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011 in New Beginning Tabernacle with the Rev. Gary Moore and Rev. Jeff Worley.  Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and family from 7:00-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg and other times at the home of Rev. Gary Moore.

The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Hills, Shirley Miller and Anna Staley for their dedication and support during her illness.
