Helen Marie Cokendolpher, age 87 of Boones Mill, VA died peacefully on Friday, February 15, 2013, at The Haven in Rocky Mount, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.H. Cokendolpher, in April 2010. They were married 65 years.
Helen had made reservations with Jesus as a young woman and accepted His Salvation so this life ending here is the beginning of her new life in eternity, with The Father and the Son in her home called heaven.
Born in Cement, OK September 21, 1925 to Elmer Dee and Georgia Hyden. She grew up and lived in Texas all her life, until moving to Virginia with her husband in 2003. She and her husband had a successful tax and accounting service in Amarillo, TX for over 40 years prior to retirement.
Helen is survived by two children, Linda Smith and her husband Lowell of Washingtons Crossing, PA and Dave Cokendolpher and his wife Judy of Boones Mill, VA. She has two grandchildren from Linda and Lowell; Dana Garnier and her husband Rick, and Jason Smith. She has three more grandchildren from Dave and Judy; Brad and his wife Clare, Zach and his wife Valarie, and Josh and his wife Katrina. She has eight beautiful great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan, Austin, Tyler, Caleb, Andrew, Calum, and Theadora.
Helen was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother and has one remaining brother Calvin Hyden, who lives in Sacramento, CA.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 22, 2013 at Faith Fellowship Church in Wirtz, VA. The family will receive friends at the church at 11:00 AM for one hour and the service will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park.
