Helen Marie Mansfield Barr

Helen Marie Mansfield Barr, 82, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015. She was the loving wife of William “Bill” Edward Barr, Jr. for sixty years.
Born in Long Island, New York on March 20, 1932, Helen was the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine Brosnan Mansfield. She enjoyed her work as a teacher for Campbell County Schools for more than three decades.
In addition to her husband, left behind to cherish Helen’s memory are her three children: MaryEllen Barr Kanipe and her husband, Carroll of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kevin William Barr and his wife, Francine Fuoco-Barr of Richmond, and Brian S. Barr and his partner, Deborah Steen of Lynchburg; three grandchildren: Katherine N. Kanipe of Winston-Salem, Kristen M. Barr and Natalie A. Barr, both of Richmond; and two brothers: Charles A. Mansfield of Vestal, New York and Thomas J. Mansfield, Sr. of Carle Place, New York.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 5:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Thursday, January 29, 2015, with Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Funeral Mass and a reception will follow immediately in the church Fellowship Hall.
