Helen Mayo Saunders
Helen Mayo Saunders, 88, of Lynchburg died Saturday January 19, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Emmett Saunders, Jr.
Helen was born December 5, 1924, in Richmond, the daughter of the late Wayland Mayo and the late Lucille Graham Mayo. Helen was retired from Nationwide Insurance and was a member of both the Fort Hill Women\"™s Club and Beulah Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Karen Paige Saunders and Brian Reid Saunders and his wife Nancy of Forest; grandchildren, Kristin Lee Saunders of Harrisonburg, Erin Jessica Saunders of Forest, and Shannon Saunders Noe and her husband Nick of Charlottesville.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by one sister-in-law Honey Mae McGuffin.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 24, 2013, from 2:00 \"" 3:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Edwin Clever officiating.
The family will like to thank Valerie Musgrove of the Privette Private Care Facility for her devotion and loving care of Helen over the last five years.
