Helena A. Wozniak
Helena A. Wozniak, 86, of Bedford, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born in Poland on September 1, 1926 she was the daughter of the late David and Praksy Alekesejw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Wozniak in 2003. Helena was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Lucy M. Kern of Bedford; two grandchildren, David J. Kern and wife Christina, of Rocky Mount, and Jennifer K. Davis and husband Drew, of Union Hall, and two great-grandchildren, Kathryn R. Davis and John William Reid Davis.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Bedford, with Father Salvador Añonuevo officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 1307 Oakwood St., Bedford, VA 24523. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 540-586-3443.
