Henry Calvin Novak, “Hankâ€, 77 of Lynchburg died Monday August 4, 2014. He was the partner of Virginia Grist Smith for 35 years.
Born in Clinton, Massachusetts April 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph Michael Novak and Mary Flora Robichaude Novak.
Hank was in the restaurant business for many years (Lake Placid, NY, Florida, and Myrtle Beach). In Lynchburg he held positions at the Williams Home and Oakwood Country Club. Hank was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his partner, he is survived by two daughters and two brothers: George Howe (Helen) of Gardner, MA and Carl Howe (Carolyn) of Loganville, GA, one sister: Tinky Martin of Gardner, MA, three nephews: Gary Roy, Buddy Roy, and Michael Novak, and one niece Kathy Novak.
Hank was preceded in death by his devoted Black Lab Sara and his brother G. Joseph Novak.
