Herman “Buck” Wilton Frazier, Jr., 84 of Rustburg, was welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was the husband of his loving wife of 53 years, the late Dorothy Trent Frazier.
Buck was born in Lynchburg on October 15, 1938, the son of the late Herman Wilton Frazier Sr. and the late Mamie Davidson Frazier. He attended Thomas Road Baptist Church, served in the US Air Force, and retired from Montague-Betts. Buck enjoyed Nascar racing, fishing, gardening, spending time with family, and most importantly, studying the Word of God.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Alan Frazier and his sister Nancy Nash.
He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Hartless (Guy), daughter-in-law Kelly Frazier, three grandchildren: Nicole Miller, Ethan and Leah Frazier, three great-grandchildren: Landon, Whitney, and Alyssa Miller.
The family would like to express their appreciation to both the staff of The Summit Health & Rehabilitation and Centra Hospice for their excellent care of Buck.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Celebration of Buck’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with the Pastor Rick Rasberry officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post #16.
