Howard Wayne Burford

Howard Wayne "Buckeye" Burford entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2023. Born on October 29, 1950 to the late Carroll Burford and Lois Burford.

Howard is preceded in death by his brothers Ronnie Burford and Aubrey Burford, a son Tonya's twin Detrick Burford, a brother in law William Osborne and a great nephew DaRon Smith.

Those to cherish his memories are his children Tonya and Christopher Burford, grandchildren Alyssa and Atavious Burford who was his greatest joy, his mother Lois Burford, sisters Patricia Burford, Deloras Callands, and Peggy Ann Osborne, Brothers Carl (Pam) Burford, and Raymond (Faithy) Burford, and sister in law Diana Burford.

Throughout Howard's life he enjoyed sitting on his front porch among family and friends at time taking a nap there. Howard enjoyed going on trips and drag strips racing. Howard enjoyed cooking, painting his belts and shoes to match his shirts. Howard loved shopping and fashion, he was also the light of any party/dance and will tear a dance floor up. Howard enjoyed cooking, fishing, sports and listening to music. Howard enjoyed going for rides. Howard enjoy spending time with his family, especially his mother.

He leaves to cherish his memories are devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends Devoted friends John Thomas, Nathaniel"June" Thomas, Barbara Smith Horsley and Gwendolyn Burford.

A celebration of Howard’s life will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
