Hurley Thomas Trent, 91, passed on December 23, 2014. He was the loving husband of the late Addie Glenola Trent for 72 years.
Born in Appomattox on January 10, 1923, Hurley was a son of the late Hurley B. and Annie Gibbs Trent.
Hurley is survived by his children: Glenda Lalone, and her husband, Bob; Cheryl Tate, and her husband, Donnie; Meryl Smith, and her husband, Bob; and Hurley Thomas (Tom) Trent, Jr., and his wife, Valinda; a son-in-law, Fred Simoniz; and his brother, David Trent. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Hurley was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Simoniz; a brother, Frank Trent; and three sisters: Mary Howard, Pauline Thornhill, and Elizabeth Thornhill.
Tharp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with visitation on Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will be at New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Rustburg.
