Hustin “Pappy” Martin, 60, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Helen Louise Wood Martin and daddy to his two yorkies, Pippa and Luna, but he loved the Lord even more.
Born in Roanoke September 8, 1954, he was the son of the late Houston and Nancy Portorfield Martin. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Henderson Martin.
Hustin worked at Virginia Transformers and was a member of Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Hustin is survived by his special father, Otha “ Pops” Looney; son, Timothy Martin; daughter, Carrie McKern; two very special sons that he enjoyed spending time with, Stuart McGuire and fiancée, Michelle and William McGuire and his fiancée, Tamara; three very special grandchildren, Colby, Adrianna, and Eli McGuire; and a number of other grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Julie Martin; dear friends and his church family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00-1:00 p.m., Saturday.
